What are Developmental disabilities?

Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions due to an impairment in physical, learning, language, or behavior areas. These conditions begin during the developmental period, may impact day-to-day functioning, and usually last throughout a person’s lifetime.1

Some examples of Developmental Disorders:

  • ADHD,
  • autism spectrum disorder,

  • learning disability,
  • vision impairment,
  • and other developmental delays.2

How can functional rehabilitation help?

A well trained doctor in functional rehabilitation may be able to rehabilitate patient’s developmental disability by identifying the functional disconnection and delay. This usually requires a thorough assessment of the affected child and may take up to several years to rehabilitate the disability.
